JAG Entry Scheme Recruitment 2024 : Indian Army JAG Entry Scheme 2024 :- JAG Entry Scheme (JAG 32) is a recruitment scheme for law graduates to join the Indian Army as Short Service Commissioned Officers (SSCOs). The scheme is open to both male and female candidates who have completed a law degree from a recognized university.

The eligibility criteria for JAG Entry Scheme (JAG 32) are as follows:

  • Nationality: Indian citizen
  • Age: 21-27 years
  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 55% marks
  • Height: 165 cm for men and 155 cm for women
  • Chest: 81 cm for men and 76 cm for women
  • Weight: 50 kg for men and 45 kg for women
  • Medical fitness

The selection process for JAG Entry Scheme (JAG 32) is as follows:

  • Written examination
  • Interview
  • Medical examination

The written examination will be conducted in English and Hindi. The syllabus for the written examination will be based on the following subjects:

  • General Knowledge
  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Logical Reasoning
  • Current Affairs

The Interview will be conducted to assess the candidate’s personality, intelligence, and suitability for the post. The medical examination will be conducted to assess the candidate’s physical fitness for the post.

The successful candidates will be commissioned as SSCOs in the Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Branch of the Indian Army. They will undergo a training period of two years at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai. After completion of training, they will be posted to various units of the Indian Army.

The Indian Army has released a notification for the JAG Entry Scheme 32nd Course (April 2024). The scheme is open to unmarried male and unmarried female law graduates who have passed the CLAT PG 2023 examination with a minimum of 55% marks.

The Eligibility Criteria for the JAG Entry Scheme 32nd Course (April 2024) are as follows:

  • Nationality: Indian citizen
  • Age: 21-27 years as on 01.04.2024
  • Educational qualification: Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 55% marks
  • CLAT PG 2023 Score: Minimum of 55% marks
  • Height: 165 cm for men and 155 cm for women
  • Chest: 81 cm for men and 76 cm for women
  • Weight: 50 kg for men and 45 kg for women
  • Medical fitness

The application process for the JAG Entry Scheme 32nd Course (April 2024) will start on 22nd June 2023 and will close on 21st July 2023. The application form can be submitted online at the Indian Army website.

About JAG

The Judge Advocate General (JAG) Department is the legal arm of the Indian Naval Service. A Judge Advocate is appointed under Section 168 of the Navy Act 1957 and is deemed to be a Judicial Officer. The primary role of a JAG officer is to deliver Independent, operationally-focused, solution-oriented legal advice and services across the full spectrum of naval law towards supporting naval operations and a sound naval administration. The JAG Department is the cornerstone of the law of the Indian Navy, professionally contributing to a disciplined force, with targeted legal solutions in the performance of legal and judicial duties.

Applications are invited from unmarried male and unmarried female LAW GRADUATES for grant of Short Service Commission in the Indian Army for Judge Advocate General Branch.

JAG Entry Scheme 32nd Course Eligibility 2024

(a) Nationality: A candidate must either be: (i) A citizen of India, or (ii) A subject of Nepal, (iii) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii) and (iii) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. Certificate of eligibility will, however, not be necessary in the case of candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal.

(b) Age Limit: 21 to 27 years as on 01 Jan 2024 (Born not earlier than 02 Jan 1997 and not later than 01 Jan 2003; both dates inclusive). Note. Candidates should note that the date of birth as recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary School Examination Certificate or an equivalent certificate on the date of submission of applications will only be accepted and no subsequent request for its change will be considered or granted.

(c) Educational Qualification: Minimum 55% aggregate marks in their LLB Degree (three years professional after graduation or five years after 10 plus 2) examination. In addition, CLAT PG 2023 Score is mandatory for all candidates (including LLM qualified and LLM appearing candidates) who apply for courses starting in a particular year. The candidates should be eligible for registration as an advocate with Bar Council of India/State. Candidate should be from a College/University recognized by Bar Council of India.
